PROJECT 2 :
COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS REPORT
PROJECT TASK
AND OVERVIEW
This research project adopts document analysis methodology that involves documenting, analyzing, producing, and a critical chronological and diagrammatical interpretation of Modern Malaysian architectural history. The outcome of the project will be an A4 sized illustrative chronology booklet (maximum of 25 pages) of Modern Malaysian Architecture (soft-copy) that interprets the Modern Malaysian Architectural language and architecture influences to the architectural development of Malaysia in particular.
REFLECTION
I have gained more understanding in Malaysian Architectural History and two of the significant buildings, namely the General Hospital and the Sultan Abdul Samad Building.
SELF REFLECTION
The lectures given by the few tutors were quite interesting and I want to thank the effort put into the slides to give visual impression to the students. Aided with visual elements and rather clear explanation, I have gained more knowledge on the history and development of ancient architecture to modern architecture.

The first project, which was to sketch out the significant architectural structures from each period really helped me to learn how to summarize a lot of architectural content to limited spaces and gaine deeper understanding on the content to do research on when I want to know more about the structure in terms of architecture.

PERSPECTIVE ON CLASSES
Clear lectures were given, and for the times when the lecturers had some technical or inevitable issues which affected the online classes, it was replaced with pre recorded videos, so overall the experience was acceptable.

The activity on the Times to collect the badge was not given too much significance and did not really give me much impression on the topics that were learnt on class in my opinion.

Nevertheless, the classes were carefully and well arranged according to the period and I have leart much on the development of architecture over the centuries and decades.
PERSPECTIVE ON TUTORS
All the lecturers have given their own great lectures on different topics and different interpretation of the architecture from different periods and I think all of the lectures really did a great job.

In my own opinion, Ms Dee's lectures were the most interesting ones as she always portrays herself as a ruler/significant figure in the beginning of the class to liven up the class.
